Subject: 325.965/359.750 WBFM SAM 27000 & Surgical in N. Va. 10/4 At 1203z carriers popped up on 325.965 at S-7 and 359.750 at S-1. At 1203z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical, (Waldorf), calling 27000 and telling her he has her loud and clear, also 27000 has the 1C at this time. At 1204z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical calling 27000, Surgical told 27000 he's going to have to probably patch those channels into those slots. Does 27000 need them in slots 10 through 12? At 1206z heard on the 325 and 359 Orderwires 27000 telling Surgical it's her mistake, she needs the 1C configuration. At 1251z heard on the 325 Orderwire Vagabond, (NAOC), calling Surgical. Vagabond asked Surgical to check the Low MUX B levels coming to Surgical and tell Vagabond what Surgical sees in dB levels. Surgical asked if Vagabond wanted coming from Vagabond or the other end. Vagabond said coming form the distant end going to Surgical. At 1252z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical calling Vagabond and passing along he shows a neg 12.9 coming from the other end. Vagabond said it's reaching him at a negative 32, could Surgical put a loop back up on Vagabond's line going to Surgical and coming back to Vagabond? Surgical said to stand by. There should be somebody out at the station out there. At 1254z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical calling Vagabond and telling Vagabond that the technician out at the station out there sees a good level going towards Vagabond, about a 13. Vagabond asked if the guy said he's transmitting at a 13. Surgical said that's what the guy says he has going towards Vagabond on Low MUX B. Vagabond said, O.K., You're seeing him at a 12, Surgical said a 12.9 about a 13 lets say. Vagabond asked what Surgical sees him at. Surgical said he thought he said the guy said about a 12 and a half, 12.5. Then he came back and said "that's correct, a 12.5 form you." Vagabond came on and said that it sounds like he has a line problem from Vagabond to Surgical. Surgical said yeah, from you to the GEP out there. Vagabond asked what the GEP was reading him at. Surgical said 12.5. Vagabond then asked "what's the GEP here reading Site R at." Surgical said he's seeing a 13.8 towards Vagabond. Vagabond said it's coming into the frame at a 32. Surgical said the guy at the GEP just checked Vagabonds pilot and it looks good both ways. Surgical said it's either in the ground line or the airplane. Vagabond said roger, could he get a double feed. Surgical said stand by. At 1256z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical calling Vagabond and telling Vagabond that a double feed is up at this time. Vagabond sees it and is switching, and is now on the RF side. Vagabond said that improved it by 5 dB, he now has a neg 26. Surgical said he thought Vagabond had a 32 before. Vagabond said yes, he had a neg 32, switching to the RF brought it to a neg 26. Surgical said roger, that means that it's something wrong on ground line side then. Vagabond said that if the GEP here is receiving them at a neg 13 and sending a neg 13 to Vagabond shouldn't Vagabond be receiving a neg 13 over the RF link? Surgical said roger. At 1303z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical asking Vagabond to loop that channel back to Surgical and the man at the station will put a tone on it to him. Vagabond said he's checking something else, he'll get back to Surgical. At 1304z heard on the 325 Orderwire Vagabond calling Surgical and asking Surgical what he sees on the Low MUX B from Vagabond. Surgical said he sees it jumping a little bit, from at 13.2 to a 12.9. Vagabond says great, he did a little tweaking and managed to get a link up so he's going to keep it as is, he then says he actually did a lot of tweaking:>) Surgical asked if it's looking good towards Vagabond. Vagabond say roger. At 1306z heard on the 325 Orderwire Vagabond calling Surgical and saying he'd like to leave the RF link up a little while longer. Surgical said no problem. One of the guys in the Squadron passed along info to a chap on the plane. The Squadron guy then said, "Yeah, running late? that's on time" At 1359z heard on the 325 Orderwire Vagabond calling Surgical, Vagabond said he has a circuit on his air to ground 2 can Surgical check both the transmit and receive levels. Surgical said sure, does Vagabond have a problem with it? Vagabond said he is receiving the distant end on that particular item at a negative 20, it should be a little bit better then that. Surgical said O.K. At 1400z heard on the 325 Orderwire Surgical calling Vagabond and asking if that was channel 2 or 3. Vagabond said 2. At 1400z heard phone call on 326.0108, Fantasy Football talk. At 1447z heard phone call on 326.0028USB, "This is the Signal Operator, there is no answer in his office or on his cell phone. Did you want to page him?" Signal OP then transferred the caller to the office phone of the guy they can't get ahold of so the caller could leave a message on the guy's phone. At 1453z heard phone call on 326.0108USB, "SAM Command Sgt. name, stand by. SAM Controller, 2230. What was the official off time? 1427, Ahhh, let me take a look here, yeah you guys are late. You want to do 6? 1,2,3. 7? you better slow me down. 1,2,3. I'm holding on 8. Did we get them all? You're correct, that's patched different. You want me to move 4 up where it should be? Jonathan wanted to set up FDMA on EASTLANT through Belvoir. Out Number said he thought Jonathan was going to come up standard. At 1343z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number calling Jonathan. Out Number said he has two tickets from yesterday evening. One of them says that MUX ch. 8 on land line transmit and receive is reversed. Out Number says he shows that is up on patch, is that working or not working? At 1345z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number responding to Jonathan's call. Out Number says actually he has two tickets, one of them says that ch. 8 land line to Jonathan has transmit and receive reversed. Out Number asked Jonathan if that circuit is not working now. Out Number asked Jonathan if he would give Out Number a release on that circuit so he could get with Tech Control and find out where the problem is, or if Jonathan wants to wait until he leaves Out Number can do that also. The other ticket is Jonathan is 5 dB hot on whatever the 27DK is on. Out Number says he align that up too whenever Jonathan is gone. Also Out Number told Jonathan they are up on the FDMA. They then started talking about ch. 12 bleeding over onto the Orderwire. Out Number says he worked part of Jonathan's flight across to Andrews and he told the other guy he heard it, but didn't know where it was coming from. Out Number will wait till Jonathan leaves Andrews, he believes that that problem is still there. Out Number asked Jonathan if there were any patches on 12 in a certain position or anything like that. Out Number said he heard it about an hour ago. Out Number said most of the time when he heard it the other day it was just conversations. At 1349z heard phone call on 326.0169LSB. Data bleed over covering up most of conversation At 1349z heard on the 326 Orderwire out Number telling Jonathan he just had a conversation on it. According to the ticket it is just Out Number's way. O.K. yeah, Invalid STAT, (or SAT(?) ), Yeah link primer(?) is good. I guess I can try to call down to name and maybe he can talk you guys through what you need to do differently. You sure the SHF has got the KI 36 loaded for that. Hey, there is a bad rumor floating around out there that ASCs can only do SHF now. That's not true, except for Hancock. You know Hancock is SHF only, we have a work order in progress to get them aligned, but I don't know when that's going to happen. Team 2 some how got this in their head, I don't know who told them that, but it's a bad rumor. Which would mean really the only two that I could use would be Hancock and Detrick. I couldn't use Permasans(sp?) and Whiley(sp?). We're in the Safety Meetings today. That's about it. I feel pretty confident that the link for Amerastall(?) is good, I was trying to question if they got the KI 36, they got the right tape loaded for that. That link for Amerastall(?) ought to be good. An NTS problem? Nah, you can make him happy and reboot the Asset STTIU. Everything was working O.K. when you guys were doing EASTPACC? You just went over to EASTLANT and now you can't do it. Oh, even when you're trying to enter that link primary it won't take it? That's weird. I'll go back over to the office and I'll give you guys a call back." At 1550z heard phone call on 326.0170LSB. At 1733z heard phone call on 326.0570LSB, "This is Wool Suit checking to see if you guys were in the process of setting up for a BOSAT(?) check? Ah channel 8? I'll have to figure out what kind of stuff we're using to talk amongst ourselves. I can go channel 8, but I don't think we're going to be using the same stuff. I don't know if we're going to be able to talk to each other plain on channel 8, is that possible? You guys are probably loading up something different then what we loaded up. Just same numbers is fine? Isn't it? Yeah, 1970? Yeah, O.K., that's what we got loaded up on channel 8. Alright, you want us to try calling you in about 10 minutes? O.K., bye." At 1739z heard phone call on 326.0570LSB, "This is Wool Suit, I'm still trying to contact you on channel 8. We're trying to contact you BOSAT(?). Yes we are, he's transmitting to you right now. We're not getting anything out of it. You want to go DSN now? Can I get your initials please? Is it crypto or the system? You think it's system? You don't know." At 1858z heard phone call on 326.0250LSB, "Detrick Tech. Control, Alright, whenever you're ready." Scrambled comms. broke out. At 1901z heard phone call on 326.0570LSB. At 1917z heard phone call on 326.0250USB, "Try DSN 441-3897, that's the Station Watch Officer." At 1918z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan Port 3 is normal. At 1921z heard phone call on 326.0250USB. Very distorted. At 1922z heard phone call on 326.0170LSB. At 1926z heard phone call on 326.0250USB. Scrambled comms. At 1926z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that Out Number has a loop at Detrick on Port 3. At 1927z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he's not seeing any data from Jonathan or "him". Out Number said he's just looking with a scope, he'll be back. At 1929z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan telling he's not syncing up with him on it. Out Number asked if Jonathan was putting up a remote loop at Waldorf. Out Number told Jonathan there is no loop up at Waldorf. At 1930z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that on the FDMA MUX he does not show a loop up on Port 3. At 1931z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he does not see a loop, EASTLANT, Belvoir he does not see a loop. At 1952z heard phone call on 326.0170USB. At 1957z heard phone call on 326.0490LSB. Scrambled comms. At 2000z heard phone call on 326.0170USB. At 2012z heard phone call on 326.0250USB, siren type sounds, then "This is Jonathan, standby for a Communications Flash Test Call" repeated 4 times, then "As your Command is called report on the audibility of the Conference" Jonathan then called The White House, Command Center and Blue Grass. All replied loud and clear. Then, "Jonathan has all conferees loud and clear this terminates the Conference, Jonathan out." Jonathan's audio was very weak, the other 3 parties were much louder. At 2018z heard phone call on 326.0250USB. Another Communications Flash Test Call. This time only Command Center and Blue Grass were called. Again very weak audio from Jonathan. At 2020z heard phone call on 326.0170LSB. At 2022z heard phone call on 326.0250USB. Another Communications Flash Test Call. This one involving Pacific, NORAD, Ottawa, STRATCOM, ACOM, Europe, SPACECOM Special Activities, Command Center. A few others were called but due to the low audio from Jonathan I couldn't pick them out. The only one not to reply to Jonathan was NORAD. At 2030z heard phone call on 326.0490LSB. Scrambled comms. At 2031z heard phone call on 326.0170USB. At 2049z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number asking Jonathan what Jonathan needs done. Out Number requests they do the 2702 first. Out Number tells Jonathan to download to him so they'll be set up like Jonathan and Out Number will move the cables. At 2050z heard on the 326 Orderwire Jonathan calling Out Number. (Jonathan's audio was weak and hollow sounding. The SAT Orderwire was patched onto the UHF Orderwire.) Out Number came on and told Jonathan that "they just rebooted you". Jonathan was no longer heard on the UHF Orderwire. Out Number then checked to see if there was any data. Out Number saw data going towards Jonathan but nothing coming from Jonathan. At 2053z heard phone call on 326.0570LSB. At 2054z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number asking Jonathan "which channel?" Apparently Jonathan said channel 8. Out Number said that it's a terrestrial problem, something on the Hard Stand. Out Number said he'll look to see if there's a ticket on it or if anyone worked on it yet. At 2055z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that the ticket number is 991010. The note on it says to wait until Jonathan leaves town to work on it. At 2105z heard phone call on 326.0250LSB. At 2125z heard phone call on 326.0250LSB, "There's a circuit, you want us to take the 29HN that goes to Waldorf, right? Where do you want us to connect it to? What is the CCSD or the link ID or something? 2BND, O.K. we'll look it up in the NCD and that should be no problem at all we're already connected going back to Waldorf. That would be great if you could send us the address and the settings so we won't mess things up." At 2218Z heard phone call on 326.0250LSB. Scrambled comms. At 2129z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he put Jonathan's 75 bits per second circuit up. Jonathan requested 29HN from Roberts on Port 2. Out Number asked if that was Jonathan's AUTODIN. Out Number said that he can do that. At 2131z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he sent a TCCC message. At 2132z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he sees data both ways on Port 2. He'll be waiting for a TCCC message from Jonathan also. At 2157z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he'll check, standby. Out Number told Jonathan he has everything he can get. At 2202z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan to let him check that out. At 2205z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan, "Data Port 3?, no, I'm not doing anything to that. On your dial tone channels it looks like Port 10 is broken, I'm not sure where, which end, every time I plug into it I get an off hook. I'm going to have to investigate on that when you leave. Ports 14 we have the Orderwire on so you're not going to get any dial tone on that one and Ports 15 & 16 I don't see any problem with them. Can you test them again sir? They should be commercial dial tones." At 2207z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan he sees it off hook towards Jonathan. Out Number does not have any dial tone, he's not sure what arrangements Jonathan makes for the Orderwire, Out Number then starts talking to himself as he moves around a patch cord. Out Number says that on Port 14 Jonathan should be able to pull dial tone. At 2208z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number calling Jonathan. Out Number told Jonathan that the Orderwire should be back on it. I could hear Jonathan back on the UHF Orderwire. Out Number told Jonathan he has him 5 by. Jonathan told Out Number that he should pay more attention to where he patch things. Out Number said no problem. Out Number says he believes they do have a problem with Port 10. When Jonathan is done with their exercise Out Number will tear the thing apart and see what is wrong with it. Out Number notices when he plugs into it he gets an off hook and it's coming out of the Multiplexer, he's not sure if it's in the Multiplex or the card. The card should be good because as soon as Out Number unplugs it it goes idle. If it's at Out Number's end he'll fix it. If it's on Jonathan's end he'll let Jonathan know. (Jonathan is no longer heard). Out Number says that generally Jonathan has been using the SSMA Port 4 also so more then likely the problem is at Waldorf, because Jonathan uses the same Multiplexer Port 4 option, unless Jonathan has an option wrong in the thing, Jonathan usually keeps it optioned at 2400 bps. More then likely the problem is at Waldorf and he'll chase it down. At 2211z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number calling Jonathan and telling him he's showing them as Celp cards. What is Jonathan showing them as on his end? At 2212z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that "below that you need to have them as either STU III or Celp and I have a Celp card in here which are the ones for the clear fax and if you don't have that card in there that's probably what that is, we probably have different cards in the system although I've got Celp loaded into this. At 2215z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he's going to give him a dial tone, he changed the cords on 15 & 16 would Jonathan like to give them a try. At 2222z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number asking Jonathan to go off hook on either channel so Out Number can look for the proper signal. At 2226z the 326 Orderwire noised up, Out Number called Jonathan after the noise went away and got no reply. Out Number then was heard on the Orderwire, "I don't know if I got him or not." At 2256z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he's looking for station Dutch Boy, he lost him where he was. Apparently Jonathan told him where he was and Out Number said he would look for him there. At 2306z heard on the 326 Orderwire Out Number telling Jonathan that he never heard anything his way at all. At 0117z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark, (Waldorf), responding to Root Alum, (Primary NAOC). At 0123z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark replying to Root Alum. Pock Mark said that he thinks they are up. I heard a beep and then Pock Mark said yeah, we're up and running. We're doing fine. At 0125z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark calling Root Alum 2 times. Root Alum answered on the second call. Pock Mark said he takes it that Root Alum started his transition, he'll give Belvoir a call and set up all the stuff in Tech Control. Pock Mark takes it Root Alum is going to work with the SATCOM. Pock Mark asked if Root Alum was coming up EASTPACC. Apparently so. At 0134z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum that the system is set up back towards the SSMA, he's talked to the folks at Belvoir and everything is ready waiting for Root Alum. Pock Mark sees some services up, the only thing that Pock Mark does not have up is the Multiplexer. Also what Pock Mark did on the MUX is he put DSN 33 on the first slot, 32 on the second slot, 31 on the third slot and DDD 301-638-0304 on the forth slot. At 0151z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum that he has a loop back at Detrick on the 2702, Pock Mark did see data on it at one time. At 0154z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum he's checking the thing right now. He may have broke it going up to Detrick, let him check it. At 0157z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum it looks like he broke the link to Detrick. Let him call Detrick and see if they can put it back together. At 0208z heard phone call on 326.0170LSB. "I copied you good that time but I'm getting a di dah dah di, something like "Morris" Code, on it. Z160 O.K. standby." The phone then hung up. Some of the CW I could pick out was 0,W,A,R,U,K,1,P in no order. I could only copy during quiet times. At 0209z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum that they are working on the thing right at this moment. At 0217z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark telling Root Alum he had to give them all the options. Pock Mark was testing all of the channels that weren't working. When Pock Mark downloaded he downloaded to the wrong one. Pock Mark had to restore everything he broke up at Detrick. Pock Mark dropped a loop and told Root Alum it should cure a lot of problems. Pock Mark dropped it and said one of them was sending a ten ten and the other was sending a three ten. Pock Mark said all of the circuits should be back, he broke it good. Pock Mark said the way he has Root Alum up is all of Root Alum's normal circuits should be going Belvoir to Detrick. Pock Mark says he gets all of his services through Detrick then massages them and sends them to Root Alum through Belvoir. At 0241z heard on the 326 Orderwire Pock Mark passing along to Root Alum some updates. On channels 15 & 16 on the FDMA application he found a bad carrier card and replaced it. It seems to test O.K. On Port 10 he doesn't see any trouble on it. When Root Alum plugs into it when they link up on the FDMA application it immediately goes busy when Pock Mark plugs it into a circuit. Pock Mark turned one of his spare units to emulate Root Alum, put them back to back and Pock Mark can pull dial tone and talk through it, so what Pock Mark did was change the carrier card over to the first position if it comes in trouble again on Port 8 then he'll know it's something in the card even though Pock Mark hasn't seen it yet, and if it stays on Port 10 they'll go looking at Root Alum's house. The only thing that bothers Pock Mark about Port 10 is currently Root Alum is up against one of Pock Mark's other Multiplexers and it seems to be working fine. Pock Mark said this is on the FDMA application. Pock Mark said "he", (someone else not Pock Mark), can't run them on the SSMA application. Pock Mark said they'll have to check them out the next time Root Alum comes up on a test. Pock Mark said it works on this application, (SSMA I guess), but when they have it up on the full blown FDMA application it was doing flaky things. Also Pock Mark was noticing earlier Root Alum was taking an awful lot of hits, it appears that Root Alum was taking them on all of the services. Pock Mark happened to have a scope plugged in the 2702 circuit and he was watching the Multiplexer hit at the same time so it was like something hitting the whole link. Is Split End still seeing them O.K.? 03 understands that Split End also has them up at Doolittle. At 1916z Shote 03 telling Split End that they are not seeing any pilot tone from Station Doolittle, the circuits did check fivers. At 1920z Shote 03 asking Split End what time Shote 03 was transitioned into Split End. Back to live action: At 1928z heard phone call on 267.6371USB, 15 minutes on the call, "How late?, RX(?)71? I have 246 dot 95. Ahh 355, right. Yeah, I think so, I don't really know what I'm looking at though. Do you have us transmitting? No I don't know anything about Tech Control stuff. Tomorrow night ahh, the night shift, we only have 2 people here so I don't know about getting the vans out, unless somebody else feels like coming in. That's what I was thinking there must be another UHF antenna out there. There must be a helicopter radio though. All the frequencies are preset and I don't see that one. 3568, that might be one, I always call 3023. That 171 I never had to use it, we've only been trained on it every once in a while. So if somebody just calls up and says hey can you do this, it's like what? Yes sir. So I just know like the basics of it. 8 Bravo? O.K., Sgt. name? yes. We definitely need more training on it though. At 1930z heard on the 267 Orderwire Flim Flam, (Primary NAOC), calling Split End. Flim Flam asked Split End to normal up the low MUX channels, (data circuits). Split End said roger. Split End came back and told Flim Flam B & C are normaled up. At 1940z the 230.650, 366.750 & 355.000 carriers were gone/in the mud. At 1942z heard on the 267 Orderwire Split End responding to Shote 03. Split End telling 03 that he sees the signal down, he's down also. At 1943z heard on the 267 Orderwire Split End asking Shote 03 which way he's headed, Split End is losing him. At 1944z the 267 carrier dropped. Speculation Dept: The 230.650 carrier from Shote 03 was transmitting to the FEMA GEP. Unless anyone can tell me that the WAR 46 GEP is still active. 345.400 should be the GEP freq. for 366.750 A/C freq. If Waldorf had that up on 345.420 or so it could have been outside the receivers passband and I missed picking it up. To many WBFM carriers at once:>) Question Dept: Does anyone have the tail numbers for the E-4Bs? Does the E-4 have the capability of transmitting 3 WBFM carriers? # of the carriers were from a/c. That's all for now, 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: From the Learning 03 Tape, N.Va. 10/14 Live Ball calling Life Long, Live Ball tells Life Long that he has station Turnpike up here, he should be in the Network with us, he hasn't come on the Orderwire yet, you want to give me the 5B now? Life Long said that's fine. Live Ball said that's going to be circuits 1,2, 9 & 10. Life Long said roger. Live Ball said he'll take them now. Live Ball got them and gave them to the other a/c. Live Ball came on the Orderwire asking unheard what his call sign was. "Hey Learning, this is Live Ball, you should have the 1A plus 5 B at this time." "How do you spell that, Learning, l e a r n i n g? " Live Ball telling Learning he'll get it up there. Live Ball tells Learning, "I've got him up there on RF1." Live Ball telling Learning that he believes he has station Tensity(sp?) up to him, he's burning to Learning, he should have dial tones. Apparently Learning told Live Ball that they are not receiving any Pilot Tone. Learning then said, "But the circuits still work?" Live Ball asking Learning to say again. "O.K., you don't have Pilot Tone, that's from the station there at the station, they get those dial tones out of that station there. O.K., what we did there the frame loop goes back to you, so O.K., that's something at that Multiplexer there. Let me see if they got tickets on these things too." Live Ball calling Learning 03, Live Ball tells Learning that regarding his no Pilot and pulsing SF on MUX 11, ticket number on that is 991022, apparently they didn't write one yesterday, but one is written now, they'll have to get it fixed. They won't be able to get it fixed today because there is no one at the station actually. Live Ball then asked about channel 3. He asked if it was still hung up, does Learning have a way of contacting the folks there? Live Ball thinks that the problem is in their switch, but he'll also note that Learning is not getting dial tones and they can check it out. Live Ball says he understands that Learning had a problem on their third channel on that. Tensity?, one of those dial tones is not working. So number 3 is doing that? Oh, I'm with you, I should have known, I wired those, I thought it was the first three circuits, four circuits actually, last four. O.K., I got it covered. Live Ball calling Learning, Live Ball said regarding channel 11 that's pulsing to Learning, he contacted the distant end and when the guy can get into the switch he's going to look and see if he can see any troubles coming out of the switch rather then out of the hardware. It is being investigated. "The people, your customers, your distant end, that own the PBX I'm having him look at it at the PBX and if it's something in the PBX he can take care of it, it's cool, if it's a hardware problem our man will be in in the morning." Live Ball calling Learning 03, Live Ball told Learning that as far as he knows "it's" always open. We used to terminate it here, but I believe it's always open. I think that they've decided to leave that open all the time. We don't open it up like we used to, as far as I know it's open and they should have you on a speaker. Live Ball calling 03, It'll be a speaker they've cranked down some where's, is what it is. I'm looking, I'm reading the manual on the thing right now. "It says Orderwire located in Tech Control Bay 3.01, right, it says a Loop Back Switch is located in the Bay to the left of the Orderwire in Bay 2.01, the test jacks are in the same Bay as the Loop Back Switch. So, apparently there is a switch at their house." Live Ball calling 03, "According to this the Orderwire is located in Tech Control in Bay 206, let me read the updated one, it says Orderwire is located, I got two sheets here, ahh, the latest one, the last one says it's located in Bay 301,Loop Back Switch is in the Bay to the left, it's in Orderwire Bay 201. Should be a switch in there." Live Ball telling 03, "It says that, the note here says, Orderwire is located in Tech Control Bay 301, The Loop Back Switch is located in the Bay to the left of the Orderwire Bay and it says 201 and I'm just reading over some of the other notes, it says that it's always left in a loop, I guess you're going to have to have the loop taken down." Live Ball telling 03 that it's doesn't say what it's labeled, I'll give you the paragraph before that, "It says the MUX is always left in the loop back condition to hold up the DSNs, to bring the station up for service the loop back needs to be dropped, Watch Officer has to be called at Tech Control, request a loop back on the old U 1000 system to be dropped at the RT room, and the same loop back has to be put up after the flight is over. I don't know if it's in the new ENCM for the Northstar, no I don't know. I'm reading this out of the, you know we have a book here on each station, and ahh. You don't have a FAX on board there, do you? A nonsecure? Yeah, O.K." Live Ball telling 03 he hears him, then another voice popped on "Hello?" Then, "Hello, who's this?" Other voice, "Yeah, I'm on" Live Ball, "Super". Other voice, "not with me at this time, See I got this one switch in loop right now up there." Live Ball, "No I don't, but I got a number here that says should call the operator and have then drop, request a loop back and the old one be dropped in the RT room. Also I'm getting ready, I'm going to have to set you up for transition here. I think I got you, let me make sure I've got everything set up right here, that looks good." Other Voice, "You want me to establish the E 1000? ARC 171?, O.K. Live Ball, "roger sir, I can call them on an outside line, 03 this is Live Ball, I'm going to transition you now." Carrier dropped. Looks like FEMA/or WAR 46 GEP was not functioning the way they wanted and had to get someone at the GEP to set it up right for them. Does anyone have the tail numbers for the TACAMOs??? That's all for now, 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 336.820/397.050 WBFM AF1 & Tom Thumb in N. Va. 10/18 At 1937z WBFM carriers popped up on 336.820 at S-9 and 397.050 at S-1. At 2013z heard phone call on 336.8725LSB, call to a Col. on the plane. Col. wasn't in caller left wx for destination and runway 4 Right is in use. Info for Newark. At 2013z heard on the 336 Orderwire Tin Cake, (NAOC), calling Tom Thumb, (Waldorf). Tin Cake told Tom Thumb he needs to roll channels 11 & 7 around, he has a problem with his MUX. Tom Thumb said O.K., let him get to the back. At 2014z heard on the 336 Orderwire Tom Thumb calling Tin Cake, Tom Thumb asked if that was channels 7 & 11. Tin Cake said that's correct. Tom Thumb told Tin Cake he should have them. At 2031z heard on 336.81376 what sounded like Morse Code. It was very weak and the tone form the carrier was over powering it. If any Code geeks are out there want a crack at trying to copy it let me know. I'll send 2 wav files for your use. One recorded in CW mode and one in USB mode. I'll try listening to it myself, but I'm not a "Code Man". At 2152z heard phone call on 336.8450LSB, "They now know that it is West Nile, no, they know that the virus that they identified in New York and Bergen County and everywhere is actually the West Nile, so I mean it's not brand new news, but it's not what they are making it. You know, since you are in that area, no no, if the question comes up. Just so you're not surprised. There is another story in The New York Times in the offing, name is doing a story for The Times about how CDC has handled the investigation. They're still saying, name A, will be the one that does it, we're asking for name B who does the Bio Terrorism, but they are trying to stick with name A. They did a briefing today for name c, name d, and name e, who wanted to be updated so they went ahead and did it. You know that there is a NEC Bio Terrorism meeting on Wed. with principles, it sounds like it is just Bio Terrorism not anything to do with West Nile, but I'll follow up on that. There is one more confirmed case so it's 56, it's not a new case, they're all in Sept. and let's see, no news on horses and birds and when New York state does any kind of announcement and AG does an announcement on horses and birds then CDC is prepared to do a "There is no concern for horses to human transmission", and so that's it. Oh, by the way, important, I almost forgot, Sec. Daly does want to speak with you, he left the office right now. I don't know why. Did he call you earlier today? I got you, yeah. You can find him tonight after 9 o'clock. I've got his home number if you want to do that. How about if I leave it on your home phone, alright, O.K., bye." It's a little hand held mike and 2 little boxes, you put the speaker boxes on the side of the platform and he literally holds the hand held mike and that's it. How ever you want to do it just bare in mind the audible, check to make sure the voice is good cause it has to be pretty solid to be heard." At 2208z heard phone call on 336.8689LSB.
