Subject: 267.610/355.000 WBFM Studious and 29000/AF1 in N. Va. 7/5 At 1241z found WBFM carriers on 267.610 at S-8 and 355.000 at S-1. At 1300z heard on the 267 Orderwire Studious, (Waldorf), calling 29000. No answer. At 1301z on the 267 and 355 Orderwires heard 29000 calling Studious and passing along that they now have dial tone on ch. 8. At 1321z heard on the 267 and 355 Orderwires AF1 passing along to Studious that they were airborne at 1320z. At 1322z heard on the 355 Orderwire a phone ringing loud and clear. Studious came on the 267 Orderwire and started saying "Somebody's got an open mike". When the phone kept ringing Studious called AF1 and got a hold of the radio op. The radio op told Studious that she copies. The ringing stopped. At 1323z heard on the 267 & 355 Orderwires AF1 pass along to Studious that they estimate the blocks at 1430z. This transmission was by an OM radio op on AF1. The previous transmissions were by a yl op. At 1325z heard phone call on 355.0421USB. At 1326z heard phone call on 355.0576USB. At 1327z heard phone call on 355.0419USB, "We're on time for 1030L". At 1329z heard phone call on 355.0389LSB, "We're on the way to Kentucky". At 1331z heard phone call on 355.0419USB, some one is at the Northwest gate. At 1332z heard phone call on 355.0330USB. At 1350z heard on the 267 Orderwire Studious calling AF1, no reply. The 267 carrier then dropped. 355.000 was still at S-2. No calls could be monitored on the 267 carrier due to tones that were present on the MUX channels. You can usually hear the SF tones on a clean carrier but these tones were not SF, they were very distorted. When calls were made the voices were very distorted. The carrier from the a/c on 355 was very clean, no problem monitoring the MUX channels there. I recorded a bit of the 267 carrier on a RS 2042 and a Yaesu 9600. Using a pair of headphones I listened to the carrier from the 2042 recording, everything seemed fine. The recording of the carrier on the 9600 revealed the culprit. A very loud low frequency hum. Apparently the 2042's audio passband filtered out the low frequency component. I record the Orderwire comms. on the 2042 and monitor the MUX channels on the 9600. Otherwise I may have noticed the hum on the 9600. That's all for now, 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 267.610/355.000 WBFM, Studious and 973 in N. Va. 7/5 At 1851z found WBFM carriers on 267.610 at S-8 and 355.000 at S-9 +30 with scratchy audio. At 1852z heard on the 267 Orderwire Studious calling 973 a couple of times. No answer. At 1854z the 355 carrier dropped from S-9 +50 to off. The carrier came back on at S-7 without the scratchy audio. About 10 seconds later the scratchy audio was back. The carrier then dropped again and came back without the scratchiness. At 1855z heard on the 267 and 355 Orderwires Studious and 973, 973 finally answered Studious and asked Studious "How's that now". Studious told 973 that it was a lot better. At 1901z heard phone call on 355.0323USB. At 1914z the 355 carrier faded away. At 1927z the 267 carrier dropped. The low frequency hum was still present on Waldorf's carrier. 973 is probably the back up a/c for AF1. They have been using it a lot lately for a back up to AF1. Don't know why they aren't using one of the 2X000 birds. AF1 must have departed KY. That's all for now, 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 325.960/359.750 WBFM 973(?) & Waldorf in N. He will be departing at 1735. We're going to go for dinner, so we're thinking Hors d' Oeuvres. Yeah, snacks will be alright. I think dry snacks will be O.K. White Cheddar Pop Corn, Pretzels, Corn Chips or regular Chips. We have 17 people. We have three 12 packs remaining. We can bring that. Maybe some diet Cokes, not a lot. I think dinner is good. Can you give me 2 options? Not expensive certainly not Lobster Tails or Prime Rib or high priced dinners. The last trip I did stuffed Pork Chops and that turned out really well, that was just recently so I don't want to do that again. Can you fax me over 2 ideas for menus for dinner or you could tell them to me over the phone, you may need to think about it. That way I can propose them to Mrs. Shelton, I prefer to have her involved. Veal Parmesan is a choice, and maybe Stuffed Flounder too. They're both white fish right?, Orange Roughie." Va. 7/21 At 1923z found WBFM carriers on 326.000 at S-8 & 382.350 at S-8. At 1929z the 382 carrier was at S-1. NAOC landed at Andrews. At 1937z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent, (Waldorf), telling the Primary NAOC, "Whatever's going one way is going the other way also". At 1949z heard phone call on 326.0387LSB At 1950z had to hit the road for about 1 1/2 hours. I put in tapes to monitor the Orderwire and MUX ch. 6, ~ 40Khz above the carrier in LSB. In this case 326.0387LSB. In the past most EAMs and Communication Flash Test Calls have been on ch. 6. At 1956z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent talking with NAOC. Detergent told NOAC that NAOC has a remote loop to Fort Detrick, whatever NAOC has on there is pulsating and going back to him. Detergent said that if NAOC has 10 10 on there it doesn't look like a normal 10 10. It's pulsating back and forth. Whatever Detergent sees from NAOC is going back to him. Detergent shows it on the loop from Fort Detrick. Detergent then told NAOC that he stopped it whatever he did. Detergent now sees a pattern, it looks like it may be a 10 10. Whatever Detergent has from NAOC is going through the loop at Fort Detrick and going back to NAOC. At 1958z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent telling NAOC that "Alright it's down". Detergent told NAOC that NAOC just took his signal down, whatever he had from Fort Detrick which was just like NAOC's is still going towards NAOC. At 1959z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent asking NAOC to give him a hard loop on that. Detergent says that he sees it, let him reset "this" and let it run for a while. Detergent then asked if NAOC did anything because he has a major disaster now. Detergent took 200 hits all at once. Detergent is looking at the delay time, it looks pretty good, about 600 ms. Detergent is now back to running signal through NAOC. Detergent says that since he came off of his delay test he has run for 40 seconds without a hit. Detergent said that he's out of it. At 2002z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent telling NAOC it looks good the other way, he shows it normal. At 2004z heard on the 326 Orderwire Detergent telling NAOC that he could take him there anytime. The carrier then dropped. There was no traffic on the MUX tape. Came back at 2145z and the carriers were present, 326.000 at S-8 and 382.350 at S-1. Maybe NAOC gassed up and flew off for a bit and came back to Andrews. At 2210z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Detergent replying 3 times to NAOC(?). Apparently NAOC replied and Detergent told NAOC that "it's up, it sounds good". At 2236z heard phone call on 326.0310LSB. At 2237z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Detergent asking NAOC if he wants the loop down. Detergent took the loop down. At 2240z heard on 326.0389LSB sirens followed by a weak OM voice saying "All Conferees Standby" and a much stronger voice saying "Back Up Conference Standby". This went on for 11 minutes. Then at 2251z heard a weak YL voice saying "L3IMJO Standby" this lasted for 1 minute then at 2252z heard "Message Follows L3IMJO...." the EAM was pretty much unheard with qrm from adjacent channels and the low audio of the voice. At 2248z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Detergent telling NAOC that "it's up sir". At 2314z heard phone call on 326.0233LSB. At 0015z heard on the 326 Orderwire, SAM 973 calling Detergent. Ready Made, Waldorf's new call, answered. 973 told Ready Made that he has them good readable, how does Ready Made have him? Ready Made says he has 973 loud and clear. 973 told Ready Made that he understands that he has a 1C. Ready Made says right, does 973 want channels 1 & 2 also? 973 says no. Ready Made says "Great, I don't have them up to you". After this exchange searched the memory bank and found carriers at 345.420 at S-5 and 366.750 at S-1. Maybe Gen. Shelton headed to MacDill per Monday's monitoring of 973 on WBFM? At 0026z heard on the 326 Orderwire, some noise and then Ready Made come on and ask if some one called him. No reply. At 0039z heard on the 326 Orderwire, 973 calling Ready Made. 973 told Ready Made that they will be shutting down for a few minutes to swap power. The 345 and 366 carriers then dropped. They came back up a few minutes later. At 0048z the 326 and 345 carriers noised up and Waldorf dropped the 345 carrier. At 0105z the 345 carrier was back. 973 was having problems with his radio and Waldorf kept dropping him because he was noising up the 326 carrier also. 973 eventually was airborne around 0113z. More tomorrow. That's all for now, 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 326.000/382.350 WBFM Woodbury & Ready Made in N. Va. 7/22 At 1726z had carriers on 326.000 at S-8 and 382.350 at S-6, Primary NAOC, Woodbury is airborne. At 1726z heard on the 326 & 382 Orderwires Ready Made answering Woodbury, Woodbury asking Ready Made something about a 2047 pattern and if Ready Made could patch his Fireberd in so they can run a BERT test. Ready Made asked if that was the MUX between the two of them. Woodbury said yes, Ready Made said alright port 4. Woodbury said "yes sir". At 1732z found another WBFM carrier on 366.750 at S-8 and fluctuating. An a/c, Woodbury? At 1736z heard on the 326 & 382 Orderwires Ready Made calling Woodbury, Ready Made asked Woodbury how his Fireberd looked. Woodbury said that he is synced up now. Ready Made said that he is going towards Fort Belvoir. Woodbury said that he has some stuff programmed up goofy, like port 7 programmed up at 9.6 for the people that he has on board right now and it dumped so Woodbury redownline loaded to Ready Made again and he has a few errors. He wants to restart it again, but he's running a lot cleaner then he was. He restarted and he hasn't taken any errors yet. Ready Made said that it seems like it cleared up once Ready Made downloaded to Fort Belvoir. Woodbury said that maybe that's something that they need to do from now on since they can now run end to end. Ready Made asked Woodbury if he wants to let it run for a while. Woodbury said sure. Woodbury says that it's a new toy, he's all for that. Ready Made said he'll leave it up till Woodbury calls. Woodbury then said that he took a big hit then, he just dropped out. Ready Made said he lost it also. Ready Made said that it was in both directions when they lost it. Woodbury said that the plane kind of bounced and the MUX is all alarmed out. Ready Made says that his MUX is alarmed also. Woodbury said that he has something going on on 28. Woodbury said that he knows what's going on, the plane just banked and put the plane between the dish and the satellite. Ready Made said that he just did a loop from Fort Belvoir and restored it so it had to be from Woodbury. Woodbury said that what happened is that he only has a 16 degree look angle right now and they are flying and hit some turbulence and bounced around and the pilot banked to the right, the east, and it put the airplane between the satellite dish and satellite and it knocked them down when he does that. Ready Made told Woodbury to tell him he can't do that, Ha Ha Ha, Woodbury said that he's going to restart his test again, he's running clean right now. Ready Made said that he hasn't locked up yet. Woodbury said that he's locked up on Ready Made. Ready Made said that his MUX is not locked up yet. Woodbury said that it should be locked up any second. Woodbury asked Ready Made to inject him an error. Ready Made said yeah, hold on. Woodbury said that he got it. Ready Made said that it's one direction right now. Woodbury said that he's going to activate a remote local Ready Made's way again. Woodbury said that he's downloading the MUX. Ready Made said that he doesn't see anything from him yet. Woodbury said that it might be that Belvoir is not locked up. He'll give them a call. Woodbury said that he sees his MUX acting up.Ready Made said that it's trying to come through, he can see that. Ready Made said that he's getting a flat line every once in a while he goes to a double line indicate through... Woodbury said that if it hasn't locked up now it's not going to, it's going to fault out on Woodbury in a second. Woodbury said let me give Belvoir a... well there it went. Ready Made said that it just cleared. They both said that they are going to go and restart. Ready Made said that he was going to insert one error. Woodbury said that he was going to insert one Ready Made's way. They saw each other's errors. Woodbury said that he was going to hit restart and let it run and see what happens. Ready Made said that that sounds good. At 1740z heard on 326.0542LSB audio feed from CNN with the JFK Jr. coverage. At 1742z heard phone call on 326.0175LSB. At 1743z heard phone call on 326.0306LSB, "HF Operations, Capt. name. Not over unsecure lines. I don't think we should be doing that. That's normal procedure, you wouldn't even though it's ??????? information, the freqs. that we have set up we still don't send them over unsecured lines. What am I looking for? What do you need me to get out of it? We just changed radios, we're set up for ALE. We did program our callsigns in, but you don't have them on you end. Is there a number where I can call you back? At 1756z heard phone call on 326.0308LSB. At 1757z the 382 & 366 carriers were at S-9 +30. The 366 carrier most be from Woodbury. They maybe have been using the FEMA GEP. I was getting a faint carrier on 345.400 in SSB mode. At 1758z heard phone call on 326.0310LSB. At 1800z heard phone call on 326.0310LSB, "Operations Center, may I help you? Hold on please". Caller was forwarded to another party. "Hello, O.K., O.K., I copy 5 by 5. Lets do another call through the STU III. O.K., yes sir. bye". AT 1802z heard phone call on 326.0232LSB. At 1810z heard phone call on 326.0467LSB. At 1817z heard phone call on 326.0233LSB. At 1818z heard on the 326 Orderwire Ready Made talking to Woodbury. The 382 carrier wa at S-1, apparently Woodbury was on the ground at Andrews and his audio was in and out of the mud. Ready Made told Woodbury that he'll set up and terminate. Ready Made had Woodbury count and I could hear the beeps from Ready Made as he was pushing buttons. Ready Made told Woodbury that they are down. Apparently Ready Made and Woodbury shut down the circuit that was on 366.750/345.400. Apparently Woodbury told Ready Made that he didn't see a pilot tone at Surprise. At 1842z heard phone call on 326.0341USB. At 1848z heard siren type sounds on 326.0390LSB, then "L3N3IQ Standby" numerous times, then at 1849z heard the EAM "L3N3IQ7GV7TW6WEKFJERQEADN2JQB7" this was repeated then "This is Bravo acknowledge O, O replied with G, 6 was unheard, L with Q, S unheard, 4 with I, E with 3, A with W, 7 unheard, 5 with U, V with F. S was repolled, still unheard. Then, This is Bravo, out". At 1900z heard phone call on 326.0309LSB. At 1900z on the 326 Orderwire a strange sound was heard. The carrier level dropped from S -8 to S - 5 and there was noise across the whole MUX range at S-9 +10. When the sound went away the carrier level went back to S-8 and the MUX channels cleared up. At 1903z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Glassware calling Ready Made. Glassware's audio was broken up while continuously calling Ready Made. The audio finally stabilized and Glassware said "Ready Made Ready Made this is Glassware Orderwire Alpha how copy over?" Ready Made answered and Glassware asked Ready Made if Ready Made is still seeing Glassware there, do they still have the 7A? Glassware called Ready Made again and was abruptly cut off the Orderwire by Ready Made. I suspect that Glassware was a TACAMO and Ready Made had him patched onto the wrong network. At 1905z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Ready Made telling Woodbury that he has over 500 watts showing on him. I could hear on an external speaker at Ready Made Glassware calling Ready Made. Glassware is probably on the Looking Glass network. At 1906z heard phone call on 326.0390LSB. At 1907z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Ready Made telling Woodbury that he has Woodbury loud and clear. Ready Made asked Woodbury if he changed radios within the past hour or so. Ready Made told Woodbury that he has been noisy since he started traveling yesterday but in the past hour or so his radio is quiet. At 1909z heard on the 326 Orderwire Ready Made telling Woodbury that he must be back on the noisy transmitter. Ready Made said it's been like this ever since Woodbury left homebase yesterday. Ready Made says that when Woodbury told Ready Made that he was at low power and he didn't say that earlier and Woodbury's transmitter was quiet Ready Made knew something had changed. Ready Made said that Woodbury's transmitter had changed earlier, about an hour or so ago, it got quiet and now it's back noisy again. Wood bury's back on the noisy system. Ready Made says the Woodbury is back noisy again as he changes racks. At 1912z heard on the 326 Orderwire, Ready Made telling Woodbury that he's on a quiet radio on Ready Made's receive, unless Woodbury is not there. Ready Made does a test count to 5 and then says that Woodbury is back and he's on the noisy transmitter. At 1914z the news feed on 326.0542LSB was gone. At 1926z heard phone call on 326.0344USB. Earlier Andrews ATIS had reported an Air Terminal Ramp freeze scheduled for 1900z, they later pushed this to 2010z. AF1 was scheduled to return from MI. At 1950z a carrier popped up on 232.760 at S-8. At 1953z heard phone call on 232.7919LSB. At 1957z heard phone call on 232.8079LSB. At 2002z a WBFM carrier started coming through on 357.700. " "Air Force 1 go ahead Air Force OPS Center, within 10, it's about 7 right now" AFOC: "O.K. go ahead I hear you, you arrived at 2020 your block is 2025" SAM Command: Command Post copies as well, Air Force your initials?" AFOC: "LB" SAM: "O.K. anything else Air Force 1?, out" At 2034z heard phone call on 232.8053LSB. At 237z heard on the 326 Orderwire 29000 calling Ready Made. 29000 told Ready Made that he was ready to terminate. Ready Made terminated 29000. At 2038z heard on 326.0391LSB, siren type sounds then, "This is Woodbury with a Communications Flash Test Call" a couple of times. Then "As your Command is called report on the audibility of the Conference". Woodbury then called STRATCOM, Special OPS, Pacific, TRANSCOM, Europe, ACOM, CENTCOM, CENTCOM was repolled, SOUTHCOM, NORAD US SPACECOM, NORAD was repolled, SPACECOM Special Activities, Command Center, Glassware, Brown Hat, and Teddy Boy. Woodbury had all Conferees loud and clear. At 2050z heard on 326.0391LSB, siren type sounds then a yl with "This is Woodbury with a Communications Flash Test Call, as your Command is called report on the audibility of the Conference". Woodbury then called Brown Hat, Teddy Boy & Glassware. At 2055z heard on the 326 & 382 Orderwires, Woodbury telling Ready Made that he has a student there and he'd like send some tones on ch. 2, they'll send a 1K at 39. At 2057z heard on the 326 & 382 Orderwires Ready Made telling Woodbury he's in the back now. He sees Woodbury tones, now he's going to send a tone to Woodbury. Woodbury doesn't see it. Oh Oh, Ready Made was on the wrong channel, he was on 1 and just blasted someone with 1k at 0. At 2101z heard phone call on 326.0342USB, "Yes mam, this is station Glassware, what freq. are you burning on HF? We gave you a call about 5 mikes ago, any chance you happened to copy this station, over? That's a negative I will try that freq. also station Teddy Boy is looking for a working freq. for your station. I will be on deck in about 15 minutes. Alright I copy 211 and 152 would you like me to pass those freqs. to station Teddy Boy? O.K. mam thank you if I have any problems with the other freqs. i'll call you back." At 2108z heard phone call on 326.0344USB, Glassware again "I tried on the 2 freqs. you gave me and I had no joy. I just need to check out of the net is what I need to do. O.K. thanks. Roger mam I authenticate A?T with an X if this is correct I request that you authenticate BGH. Alright mam, thanks. They were very distant so I guess propagation is not very good today. I'll pass those freqs. to them and so they can try to contact you via one of those freqs. and we'll see you on deck soon. Thank you very much." At At 2117z heard on the 326 & 382 Orderwires, Woodbury telling Ready Made that he's looking at his diagrams and if he sends "it" across the DP MUX on one of the data ports would Ready Made route "it" differently or would they still send it through Detrick? Woodbury's plans don't show it at all be routed through his DP MUX, he doesn't know how they would route it if he did. Woodbury says he'll call Ready Made's 1 800 number. At 2121z heard phone call on 326.0312LSB, call to Waldorf, "Yes I am, that's dial tone MUX. Port, it still goes the same way. Let me look over there, O.K. I'm back now. The trouble your saying is at Detrick? That the only way I can set up to Detrick, unless I can send it back towards Fort Belvoir or Camp Roberts. Do they have problems too? Your talking about the 24LN, but then you have to have everything configured to the proper bandwidth. Why don't you call Pentagon SAT Control and see who they have a connection too? Really that's the only thing I can think of. How can you get a 4.8 without using someplace else, you go to Fort Belvoir, Fort Detrick on a spare port. The actual circuit goes through the Army and Fort Detrick is Army too right? O.K." At 2128z heard phone call on 326.0235LSB, "Did you switch networks yet? O.K. because we've been watching for you to access the RE-ARN(?)(that's what it sounds like) did you check in with them? From my point of view we didn't know where you were, we didn't know whether you switched nets or what. We didn't want to drop until we knew for sure you were O.K. As soon as you get a chance check in with them because they are looking for too. We've been pestering them. Alright, O.K. out here." That's all for now. Much more tomorrow. 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 326.000/382.350 WBFM Drag Race & Magnolia in N. Va. 7/23 At 1103z found WBFM carrier on 232.760. Carrier for AF1's trip to N.Y. At 1109z heard on the 326 Orderwire Drag Race, (Waldorf), talking with Magnolia, (Primary NAOC). Drag Race told Magnolia to give him a second he'll be right back to him. At 1114z heard on the 326 Orderwire Drag Race telling Magnolia that he's setting up now, he's sorry he's doing all kinds of things. Drag Race told Magnolia that he's ready when Magnolia is. The carrier then dropped. At 1115z found WBFM carrier on 305.550, GEP RF 2. Heard Drag Race yelling "RF 1 sir". The carrier then dropped and I found a carrier back on 326.000. At 1116z heard on the 326 Orderwire Drag Race telling Magnolia that RF 2 didn't want to seem to go at all. All Drag Race had was noise. Drag Race asked if Magnolia had another RF. Drag Race said that RF 4 seems to work pretty good here, let him see if that conflicts with anything. According to Drag Race RF 2 does conflict with the other platform, RF4 doesn't, RF 3 doesn't. They then planned on going to RF 4, if it doesn't work they'll head back to RF 1. They then switched to RF 4. Found WBFM carrier on 325.965. Drag Race said that he has decent AGC, in the 3s. There is still a little bit of noise in the background though. At 1258z heard on the 325 carrier AF1 calling Drag Race, a voice came on and said "Roger AF1 loud and clear" AF1 told Drag Race they were airborne at 55 and estimating the blocks at 1345. Then the voice: "Roger sir, Deception, ehh Deceptive copies". At 1327z heard on the 325 Orderwire Drag Race talking with Magnolia. Drag Race told Magnolia that he put Magnolia's 10 on 7, 9 on 8, 8 on 9 and DDD on 10. That was all the monitoring I could do at work. When I got home at 1919z found WBFM carriers on 325.960 at S-6 with crickets, 359.750 at S-1. Theses carriers were for Magnolia. 232.760 at S-8 and 357.700 at S-1. These carriers were for AF1. Both planes were parked at Andrews. At 1931z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia calling Drag Race. Magnolia told Drag Race they were airborne. Drag Race asked if they were headed to their home station. Magnolia said "Roger". At 1939z the 357 carrier was at S-9 +40. At 1943z heard phone call on 326.0047LSB, "This is 1850 how copy over?" "Magnolia, Magnolia this is WAR 46 over" "WAR 46 this is Magnolia, go ahead over" WAR 46: "Magnolia, Magnolia your partie's on the line go ahead"At this point I couldn't hear Magnolia, lots of qrm from adjacent channels. WAR 46: "1851 are you receiving them over" 1850: "WAR 46 I am not receiving Magnolia" WAR 46: "This is WAR 46, roger standby, break, 1851are you there over? 1850 this is WAR 46 do you copy any of Magnolia's transmission?, over" I couldn't hear 1850 now because of the qrm. WAR 46: "Magnolia this is WAR 46, did you copy that?, over" Still can't hear Magnolia. WAR 46: "This is WAR 46 I think you copied, 1850 did you copy that?, out" At 1945z heard siren type sounds on 325.9887LSB then "All conferees standby" for one minute, then "L3T525 standby" for about a half minute. Then the EAM of L3T525NJ74PFFCOKT6NMERISNASQJU" Then "This is N, acknowledge V". V was unheard, M replied with 2, 6 was unheard, I replied with 7, C no answer and was repolled - still no answer, Q replied with 0. Then "This is November, out". At 1951z heard phone call on 325.9886LSB. At 1957z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia calling Drag Race. Magnolia said that he just wanted to comment on Drag Race's quiet radio system. Drag Race said he didn't know it changed, he know's that it changed his way cause it was noisy yesterday. Magnolia said maybe it's because his plane is real loud. Drag Race said that they are on the same system, they haven't changed anything since Magnolia's flight two days ago, when Magnolia flew into Drag Race's station they flew in with the same MUX and radio. Magnolia said that he just never heard the ADMIN this quiet. Drag Race said he knows the ADMIN was noisy in Magnolia's flight out to Drag Race and AF1 complained about it yesterday, but that was Magnolia's transmitter. At 2006z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia saying "I'm having a real hard time understanding you if you're talking to Magnolia so go ahead and transition me over." Drag Race came on and said "Are you talking to me?" Magnolia said that he was and he was getting real broken up. Or was drag Race talking to someone else? Drag Race came back and said, "Oh this is Drag Race, I thought you said do it so I did it, I thought you had a hot mike at first." Drag Race said he shows him in station Fast Draw, oooooo, something like that, Oh Easy Mark. At 2040z heard phone call on 232.8155USB. At 2130z heard phone call on 232.8044LSB. At 2211z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia calling Drag Race. Magnolia asked for a double feed at Spot 3. I could hear the beeps when Drag Race was pushing buttons and the he said "What happened?, you still there?" I heard more beeps then "That wasn't a very good double feed, the double feed is up now though. All the circuits went away when I put the double feed up, but it's up now". Magnolia said Roger sir. At 2214z heard phone call on 232.8044LSB, "Oh, he did. Well you guys will probably be busy. If things change this weekend I'm going to be living down at the Firehouse so just have Signal beep me and I call Cell Phone" At 2217z heard phone call on 232.7914USB, "Let me back up, I don't know what you've been told and I'm not sure exactly where we are but we may be like turning everything upside down. There's a piece of paper out right now that indicates that the funeral is Sunday, midday. Well he can go to Cincinnati. We're going to meet in 20 minutes or so, so I mean he's canceled Cincinnati twice. The real question is going to be what do we do about going West further or not. The weekend is probably not going to hold intact. We'll probably know before you land, alright." At 2219z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia calling Drag Race and telling him that he has him on the land line side at this time. Drag Race said that he has Magnolia loud and clear. Magnolia has him the same. At 2222z heard on the 232 Orderwire Magnolia calling Drag Race. Magnolia requested to go land line only at this time. Drag Race showed him strictly and line. At 2231z heard phone call on 232.7998USB. At 2235z heard phone call on 232.8128LSB, "You've been hearing about Morocco, right?, The latest word that we just had is that the funeral is going to be Sunday afternoon. I don't know if you heard this from anybody else so what I'm expressing is that if it's really going to be Sunday afternoon that means for crew rest issues, the crew needs to be back 15 hours before whatever time they have to leave tomorrow night which means I would think the Aspen trip will be canceled." At 2236z heard phone call on 232.8128LSB, "We're talking about leaving here Saturday night for a Sunday instead of Sunday night. The best I can do is two 141s for everybody that needs them because I have the Bravo and the Charlie cause they want to leave tomorrow morning. That only gives me 12 hours from now to launch. HMXs are going to have to be out of the picture, they're not going to be able to send anything, WHCA's going to have to fit on a 141 as is 12 staff and whatever minimum cars we can take. We're in a world of hurt. We're getting to the point of physical impossibilities pretty quick. It's a 7 hour flight for Air Force 1 from here, and 8 hours back. I got to run over to the Sit Room again because they are reconvening. I'll keep you in the loop." At 2243z heard phone cal on 232.7888LSB. At 2253z the carrier dropped on 232.760. That's all for now, much more tomorrow. 73 de OBK Time for a Dominion :>) Subject: 267.610/355.000 WBFM AF1 & Test Prod in N. Test Prod asked if Prompter was down on the ground lines. Prompter said yes, before they caught the situation they had already dropped the ground lines and no one had switched over to an RF side, so they were kind of down a little bit and it was their fault. Prompter told Test Prod to standby he'll check his circuits. At 0306z heard on the 267 Orderwire Prompter calling Test Prod and informing him all circuits check 5 by. Test Prod asked if Prompter was moving. Prompter said yeah, Test Prod said to let him know where he's going and he'll get some stations looking. Prompter said standby let him pull up the flight plan. prompter told Test Prod that the next station will be Blow Fuse, then Liberate, and Test Prod and then through Alley Oop and continue across. Test Prod asked if they were going to be putting up FDMA or anything. Prompter said roger, when they start getting closer to Test Prod they'll start taking care of that. Test Prod said that he wanted to get it set up before he loses him, Test Prod didn't know that Prompter was going. Prompter said that they'll probably be bringing up 5, 6, & 12 and ADMIN up over the SSMA. By that time the next shift will be on and they'll determine what they want. At 0309z heard on the 267 & 355 Orderwires AF1 and Test Prod. AF1 asked Test Prod to bring up RF 10 for 28000. Test Prod asked where 28000 was at and AF1 said at Andrews. Test Prod said he sees him better where he's at, but if it gets weak let him know and he'll transition. About a minute later Test Prod called Prompter and told him he has about a 4 in Blow Fuse which is excellent and a 5.6 where Prompter's at now. Prompter said that they'll stay where they are at for a few more minutes. About a minute later Prompter called Test Prod and asked to be transitioned. Test Prod transitioned Prompter and said he should be there. Prompter said that he has him loud and clear but seems to have lost circuits could he be transitioned back. Test Prod said "You lost circuits?" Prompter said he shows no pilot tone. Test Prod said you got to have circuits because Prompter's talking to Test Prod and you have no pilot tone, what about the circuits. Prompter asked Test Prod to say again. Test Prod said "Can you check the circuits real quick you're talking to me on the ADMIN which is one of the circuits" After a half minute Prompter came back and asked to be put back to the previous station. Test Prod transitioned Prompter back. Prompter came back and said that he has everything loud and clear now. Test Prod asked Prompter if he had circuits in the other station and just no pilot tone. Prompter said he lost all indications on his scope, he had no pilot tone on his meters and the noise was pegged. Test Prod said he knows they had ADMIN since Prompter was talking to Test Prod. Prompter said he still shows a good strong signal from the present station. At 0329z heard phone call on 267.6488LSB. At 0330z heard on the 232 Orderwire Prompter calling Test Prod and asking how Test Prod sees Prompter in Blow Fuse . Test Prod says he has a 4 there and a 5.4 where Prompter is at now. We met the son at Hussein's funeral. Is Assad definitely going to be there, how about Ghadafi?" (The begining of this call may be the "great" Clinton memory at work. I've heard other calls in the past where they are discussing Clinton's previous visits and people and times.) At 0336z heard on the 232 Orderwire Prompter calling Test Prod and telling him he's staring to pick up a lot of noise how does Test Prod see him. Test Prod said he's getting ready to put him in there now, though he still sees him better where he's at. Test Prod transitioned him and asked if he was there. Prompter called Test Prod, Test Prod answered a couple of times and got no answer. Prompter kept calling Test Prod and Test Prod kept answering. I could hear beeps as Test Prod was pushing buttons and calling Prompter. Prompter called Test Prod and then told someone on the plane, "Now I've lost everything this time, Hillsboro is fu*ked up". All the while Test Prod was calling Prompter. Prompter called Test Prod again and when Test Prod answered Prompter heard him and told Test Prod that the same thing happened again, he lost all indications and it looks like they have no circuits at this time. Can Test Prod please put Prompter back in the previous station? Test Prod said he can't do that he has no signal at that station, standby while Test Prod resets the station. Prompter said that he's starting to see some circuits coming up.Test Prod called Prompter and asked if he has his circuits. Prompter said yes, he's having the operators check them. Prompter told Test Prod that all circuits check 5 by. Prompter asked Test Prod if all he did was reset the switch. Test Prod said no, he rebooted the whole station, he had him on rack 1 nothing, on rack 2 nothing, he rebooted the station brought Prompter back up and still had nothing, during the whole time he could hear Prompter and Prompter's assessment of the station is exactly correct, then it popped up. Test Prod said that basically he was switching back and forth between racks and Prompter wanted to go back to the previous station and he couldn't do that, he had no signal, and he rebooted Blow Fuse. Prompter said he didn't realize that Test Prod could hear him and he apologizes. Test Prod said that it's not a problem, he just wanted to let Prompter know that he could hear him the whole time but he couldn't hear him. Test Prod said that that was bothering him, he thought that maybe it might be a MUX pilot at first, but you said that you didn't have any circuits, just the ADMIN. At 0427z heard on the 232 Orderwire "28000, Waldorf" At 0428z the 232 carrier dropped and came back up, the strange thing is that the carrier had shifted 10Khz higher and the phone call I was listening to on 232.7811LSB was now heard on 232.7893LSB, see above and below. It seems that Waldorf had put 28000 on the transmitter that AF1 was using. The signal strength was also 2 S units higher. At 0429z heard phone call on 232.7893LSB. At 0432z heard phone call on 232.7920USB. At 0434z heard on the 232 Orderwire Prompter calling Test Prod and asking how Test Prod sees him in his station. Test Prod calls Prompter about a half dozen times and finally Prompter answers. Prompter tells Test Prod that he'd like to move ADMIN over to FDMA ch. 4, he means port 10. SSMA port 10 he means. Test Prod says roger, he was wondering he was just looking. At 0444z heard on the 232 Orderwire Test Prod called Prompter a couple of times. Prompter answered and Test Prod told Prompter that he moved the Orderwire to port 10. Prompter came back and said "Roger that sir, have you loud and clear no echo from my end, no echo" There was plenty of echo with Prompter's transmission. Test Prod told him that he has a lot of echo his way:>) Prompter called Test Prod, minus echo, and said he pulled a patch cord so he would not get the echo, but that didn't work. He asked Test Prod to move ch. 5 to port 7. At 0446z the circuits dropped off the 232 carrier. Carrier was still up though. At 0448z heard on the 325 Orderwire Test Prod, could not hear Prompter on the 359 Orderwire(weak signal), telling Prompter that he has to run to the back room to do it, he can put up his SSMA, pull the dial tones that are on there now down. The 359 carrier had come back up and I could now monitor both sides. Test Prod asked Prompter if he was ready for ch. 5. Prompter said yes. Test Prod said he's got it. Prompter said standby. Test Prod asked if that was port 7, it should be on there. Prompter asked for 6, Test Prod said "there's 6". At 0450z heard on the 325 & 359 Orderwires Prompter told Test Prod 6 checked good. At 0500z heard on the 325 & 359 Orderwires Prompter calling Test Prod and asking how he sees him in Waldorf. Test Prod says that he sees him loud and clear. Prompter says that he's getting a little noise from Test Prod. Test Prod says that he's trying to keep AF1 up as long as he can. The 325 Orderwire was very noisy. Test Prod told Prompter that that was AF1 he's fading out and Test Prod just terminated hi Orderwire, now Test Prod has lost him completely. Prompter asked to be transitioned and Test Prod said he was setting up. I could hear Test Prod pushing his buttons and then he yelled "What?" and left the Orderwire. Prompter came on and said the he has a lot of noise and very little AGC. Test Prod said that he's just starting to see him there. Prompter wanted to be transitioned and Test Prod said he has a much better signal at Waldorf, but let him set up for Alley Oop. Prompter asked Test Prod how he has him. Test Prod said loud and clear, he's still in Test Prod. Test Prod called Prompter and said that he must be on the fringe. He doesn't have a good signal anywhere. Test Prod went ahead and transitioned Prompter into Alley Oop. At 0506z the 325 carrier dropped. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 7/25 found at 1317z WBFM carriers on 345.415 at S-8 and 366.750 at S-1.
